Account & Data Deletion

MorseBoaters is designed to work without accounts. Here's what data we store and how to remove it.

What data does MorseBoaters store?

MorseBoaters does not require you to create an account. The app may store the following on our servers:

  • Device push token — used to deliver safety alerts (storm/lightning notifications). This is an anonymous identifier provided by Apple or Google.
  • Anonymous install ID — a random identifier used for basic analytics and to manage notification preferences.
  • Notification preferences — your alert settings (thresholds, quiet hours, near-lake filter).

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location history, or any other personally identifiable information.

How to delete your data

Option 1: Uninstall the app

Uninstalling MorseBoaters from your device removes all locally stored data. Your push token is automatically invalidated by Apple/Google when the app is uninstalled, and our server will stop sending notifications.

Option 2: Request server-side deletion

If you'd like us to delete any server-side data associated with your device, send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Include any identifying information you have (such as your device type or approximate install date) so we can locate your record.

We will process your request within 30 days and confirm deletion via email.

Option 3: Disable notifications in the app

You can disable all push notifications in the app's settings at any time. This stops alerts without deleting your data. To fully remove server-side data, use Option 1 or 2.
